Minister Konda Surekha Tries Bamboo Basket Weaving at Yadagirigutta, Salutes Telangana’s Artisan Heritage

State Minister Konda Surekha participated in the traditional craft of bamboo basket weaving alongside local artisans at Yadagirigutta, highlighting the dignity of labour and Telangana’s rich handcraft heritage.

Under the guidance of skilled craftsmen, the Minister tried her hand at weaving a bamboo basket, gaining first-hand experience of the dedication, skill and hard work involved in sustaining traditional livelihoods.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that from primitive society to modern civilization, labour has remained the driving force behind human progress, with the combined efforts of human hands and intellect shaping development and innovation.

Konda Surekha noted that artisans play a vital role in preserving Telangana’s centuries-old cultural traditions through their craftsmanship and commitment.

She added that Yadagirigutta is not only a symbol of the ongoing Varuna Yagam but also represents the spirit of the “Yagam of Labour,” emphasizing that a society which respects the dignity of labour also protects its cultural heritage and strengthens its future.
