Tension prevailed in Tadwai mandal headquarters on Tuesday during a protest organized by the BRS party demanding the cancellation of the Urea App.
According to eyewitnesses, former MLA Jajula Surender arrived at the protest site unexpectedly on a motorcycle and joined the demonstrators, raising slogans of “Jai BRS” and “Jai Telangana.” Police stopped him from participating in the protest, leading to a heated argument between him and police personnel.
Later, police detained Jajula Surender and shifted him to another police station in a government vehicle. Soon after, several BRS leaders and party workers reached the Tadwai crossroads to continue the protest. Police took them into custody and moved them to different police stations to prevent any disturbance.
Meanwhile, Tadwai Society Chairman Kapil Reddy allegedly appeared on the road carrying a bottle of petrol, creating concern at the protest site. Police immediately seized the bottle and tried to take him into custody. During the process, a heated exchange took place between Kapil Reddy and the Circle Inspector (CI).
The situation remained tense for some time, but police brought the protest under control and maintained law and order in the area.
