Telangana Minister Mohammed Azharuddin Inaugurates “Image & Imagine” Exhibition at Media Plus Auditorium

A unique exhibition showcasing the beauty of India’s architectural heritage and the timeless art of calligraphy was inaugurated today by Telangana Minister Mohammed Azharuddin at the Media Plus Auditorium, Hyderabad, in the presence of former Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Siasat Editor Amer Ali Khan, distinguished guests, artists, journalists, and art and heritage enthusiasts.

Titled “Image & Imagine”, the exhibition presents an extraordinary collection of more than 50 architectural photographs and nearly 20 exquisite calligraphy works, bringing together two artistic disciplines under one roof for the first time.

The exhibition features the works of renowned architectural photographer K.N. Wasif and veteran calligrapher Ghouse Arsalan, both Hyderabadis who spent several decades in Saudi Arabia and have earned recognition for their contributions to photography, journalism, architecture, and calligraphy.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mohammed Azharuddin appreciated the efforts of the artists in preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural and architectural heritage through visual art. He noted that such exhibitions play a vital role in connecting younger generations with history, culture, and artistic traditions.

Former Foreign Secretary Dr. Ausaf Sayeed lauded the exhibition as a remarkable cultural initiative that highlights the grandeur of India’s medieval architecture alongside the elegance of classical calligraphy. He emphasized the importance of documenting heritage and nurturing artistic expression in contemporary society.

The exhibition offers visitors a glimpse into India’s magnificent architectural legacy, featuring photographs of historic monuments, mosques, forts, palaces, and heritage structures captured over decades by K.N. Wasif as part of his long-term project on India’s architectural heritage. Complementing these visuals are selected calligraphic masterpieces by Ghouse Arsalan, reflecting the beauty, sophistication, and enduring relevance of the ancient art form.

Organized by the Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation, the exhibition aims to promote awareness and appreciation of heritage, art, and culture among students, young people, and the general public.

 

The exhibition will remain open to visitors at Media Plus Auditorium, offering an enriching experience for art lovers, historians, photographers, students, and members of the public interested in India’s cultural legacy.
