As Vijay failed to produce the vehicle documents, police verified the motorcycle using its engine number. The verification revealed that the original registration number was AP22-J-4231.
During the investigation, police found that the accused had allegedly stolen the motorcycle from Nirmal around three years ago. Since the original number plate was not available, he reportedly installed a fake number plate to avoid detection and continued using the vehicle.
Police seized the motorcycle, registered a case against the accused and launched further investigation.
SI Sanjay and other police personnel participated in the operation.
