Adilabad Joint-User Airport Project Moves Forward After Air Force Officials’ Visit: MLA Payal Shankar

Adilabad MLA said that the visit of Air Force officials from Bengaluru has given a fresh push to the proposed Joint-User Airport project in Adilabad.
A special review meeting was held on Tuesday at the Collectorate Conference Hall under the leadership of District Collector . The meeting was attended by MP , senior officials, and a team of Air Force officers from Bengaluru.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Payal Shankar said that important discussions were held regarding land allocation for the Air Force and Airport Authority. Officials have reportedly reached a broad understanding on the land requirements needed for defence-related infrastructure, airport facilities, and the terminal area.

He stated that the Joint-User Airport proposal has now taken a clearer shape, with the Telangana Government already initiating land acquisition procedures for a large portion of the required land. Efforts are also underway to secure approvals for additional land needed for the project.

According to the MLA, nearly 1,500 acres are being prepared for transfer to the Defence Department, while the remaining formalities are being completed. He added that the State Government has already submitted the necessary proposals to the Central Government.

Payal Shankar described the developments as a positive sign for the establishment of a Joint-User Airport in Adilabad, stating that the project would significantly boost regional connectivity and development. He also appreciated the efforts of the District Collector and officials for actively coordinating the process and moving the project forward.
