CRO Team Inspects DB Wholesale Mart, Issues Notice

The Consumer Rights Organisation (CRO) Adilabad team conducted an inspection at DB Wholesale Mart, Adilabad, following the directions of Telangana State President Ramagiri Hari Babu. The team issued a notice to the management during the inspection.

CRO Adilabad District President Shaik Irfan and the team checked food products available at the mart. Referring to FSSAI orders, the team asked the management to stop the sale, display and distribution of Everest Hing and Laljee Godhoo (LG Brand) Hing products.

According to the notice issued by CRO, laboratory tests found that the alcohol-soluble extract in different Everest Compounded Hing samples was below the required 5% standard, with some batches reportedly showing 0% to 3%.

The notice also stated that laboratory tests of some Laljee Godhoo & Company raw hing samples found 15% to 32% added starch/flour, against the reported maximum limit of 1%.

CRO District President Shaik Irfan directed the DB Wholesale Mart management to stop the sale and billing of the concerned products immediately, remove the stock from the shelves and coordinate with the companies concerned for returning the stock.

The organisation has asked the management to confirm compliance within 24 hours of receiving the notice. CRO also warned that if the directions are not followed, the matter will be taken up with the Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana, and further legal action may be initiated.
