Arutla Telangana Public School Should Become an Inspiration for the Student Community: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad/Rangareddy, June 17 (Telangana Voice Desk): Chief Minister stated that the Telangana Public School established at Arutla village in Manchal Mandal of Rangareddy district should serve as an inspiration for students across the state and change the long-standing perception that government schools are meant only for orphans and economically disadvantaged children.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Telangana Public School, the first model public school of its kind in the state, developed with world-class infrastructure and facilities comparable to leading corporate institutions. On the occasion, he also launched the Breakfast Scheme for students and shared breakfast with them.

Addressing a gathering at the school, Revanth Reddy congratulated the students, teachers, and School Management Committee, expressing confidence that Arutla Public School would become a role model for nearly 27 lakh students studying in government schools across Telangana.

He said the misconceptions surrounding government education must be removed and parents should develop the same confidence in government schools as they have in private institutions. “Let us build schools where students can dream of becoming doctors, engineers, lawyers, IAS and IPS officers. Arutla Public School should stand as a model and inspiration for the entire state,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister observed that Telangana’s future lies not in glass buildings but in classrooms. He emphasized that investment in education is an investment in the future and stressed that quality education is the key to eliminating social inequalities and bringing meaningful change to society.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to education, Revanth Reddy said that more than eight percent of the state budget, amounting to over ₹3 lakh crore, is being allocated for the education sector and the welfare of students.

Praising the school administration, he noted that all 1,814 seats from pre-primary to intermediate level had already been filled and admissions had been closed. He described the achievement as a remarkable example for the education system and congratulated the teachers and management.

The Chief Minister called upon educational institutions across Telangana to learn from the experiences and success of Arutla Public School and replicate similar models to improve government education standards statewide.

Revanth Reddy stressed that studying in a government school should never be considered a disadvantage. “Many of the nation’s prominent leaders studied in government schools. Welfare schemes alone cannot transform lives; education and self-respect are the true foundations of progress,” he said.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to educational reforms, he stated that efforts are underway to provide the best education from KG to PG while promoting sports and holistic development. He also highlighted the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools aimed at ensuring inclusive and quality education.

The Chief Minister informed that international-standard school kits, including uniforms, shoes, socks, blankets, and school bags, are being prepared for government school students. Tenders worth ₹688 crore have been finalized, and the kits are expected to be distributed by the end of July.

Expressing concern over rising drug abuse among youth, he announced a major anti-drug awareness programme at LB Stadium on June 19 in the presence of the Governor. Thousands of students are expected to participate and take a pledge against drugs. He urged students to immediately inform the police if they come across marijuana or other narcotic substances.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the launch of the Skills University to equip youth with practical skills and employment opportunities in an era where artificial intelligence is transforming traditional job markets.

Speaking on sports development, Revanth Reddy noted that India must improve its performance in international sporting events, including the Olympics. He said the government has established a Sports University under a public-private partnership model and has brought global football icon to Hyderabad to inspire young athletes.

During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected classrooms, the library, advanced science laboratories, digital learning centres, and sports facilities. He also planted a sapling and participated in a friendly football game with students, encouraging them to excel in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities.

The Chief Minister concluded by stating that Arutla Telangana Public School should emerge as a beacon of educational excellence and inspire every corner of Telangana, while the government remains committed to providing quality education, employment opportunities, and a brighter future for all students.
